EventGo is a marketplace for the Romanian events industry, covering all 42 counties and 43 categories of event business. People planning a wedding, a corporate event or a party search by county and business type, compare venues and suppliers, and book directly. Businesses — event venues with multiple salons, photographers, videographers, DJs, caterers, florists and more — claim a profile, publish galleries, menus and services, and manage their own availability. The whole product runs in Romanian, English and Hungarian, and business visibility and booking are gated behind subscription tiers billed through Stripe.
Event suppliers in Romania are discovered through word of mouth, scattered social pages and phone calls. Availability is the hardest part: a venue with three salons has different open days per salon, seasonal exceptions, and one-off closures, and none of that fits a simple opening-hours field. The product also had to serve three languages as a first-class concern rather than a translation layer bolted on, and had to let businesses self-serve entirely — sign up, build a profile, pick a plan, and manage billing — without anyone touching an account manually.
EventGo is a Laravel application with Livewire driving the interactive surfaces — search, calendars, dashboards and booking. Availability is modelled properly: each business, or each salon within a venue, carries recurring open rules, a set of available dates, and an override layer for exceptions, so a closed public holiday or a one-off private event is a first-class concept rather than a manual edit. Subscription tiers are enforced in authorization policies rather than in the UI, so what a plan unlocks is decided in one place. Billing runs through Stripe with Cashier and the Billing Portal, so businesses manage payment methods, invoices and plan changes themselves. Notifications are pushed from the backend over websockets, so a new booking or a status change lands live on both sides.
From discovery to launch
Marketplace scope, business taxonomy by county and type, and the availability model — the decision that shaped everything downstream.
Search and filtering, business profiles with galleries, menus and services, favourites, and reviews.
Recurring availability, per-date overrides, multi-salon calendars, the booking flow and its status lifecycle, with real-time notifications on both sides.
Plan tiers, policy-level entitlement checks, Stripe billing and invoices, the business dashboard, localisation QA across all three languages, and production hardening.
EventGo is live at eventgo.ro, covering the whole country in three languages, with business onboarding, subscription billing and booking fully self-serve. The figures below describe the scope the platform actually ships with — usage numbers will be added once they are real rather than projected.
A mainstream Laravel stack chosen so that multi-tenancy, permissions, queued work and subscription billing are solved problems rather than things to invent — the same reasoning applied to client work.
