Outdoor Gear Co. was operating on a legacy e-commerce platform that couldn't handle their growth. With 4 retail stores, 2 warehouses, and 12,000+ SKUs, their old system had frequent inventory sync issues, couldn't handle peak traffic during sales, and lacked modern features customers expected. They needed a custom platform that could unify online and in-store inventory, support omnichannel fulfillment (buy online, pickup in-store), and scale with their business.
The retailer was losing sales due to inventory inaccuracies—online orders for out-of-stock items, overselling popular products, and customers frustrated by "item unavailable" messages after checkout. Their legacy platform was slow, frequently crashed during sales events, and couldn't sync inventory across 4 stores and 2 warehouses in real-time. Customer experience was poor with a dated checkout flow and no buy-online-pickup-in-store capability.
We built a modern e-commerce platform with Laravel backend and React storefront, designed for real-time inventory synchronization across all locations. The system integrates with their existing POS via API, automatically reserves inventory during checkout to prevent overselling, and routes orders to the optimal fulfillment location. Customers can buy online and pick up in-store, check real-time inventory at nearby locations, and enjoy a fast, mobile-optimized checkout experience.
